The Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics is visiting USS on Thursday December 1, 2011 in the Library. The PI Outreach Team will be working with selected Grade 12 Physics students across Durham at USS to explore ideas in Modern Physics.
The students will be working with Dr. Richard Epp as they explore the truths about Gravity and the realities of Quantum Theory. Let’s stretch our imaginations and explore ideas!

A Message from the Principal regarding Grade 9 Initiation
Uxbridge SS is a wonderful school with many traditions dating back several generations. I am so proud of our excellence in academics, sports, music, arts, athletics and tech. And, I am so proud of our Tiger Spirit! I understand that the markering of grade nine faces is once again being proposed as an unofficial initiation by a small group of senior students. This has typically been done at the Uxbridge Fair and outside of school, and off school property. I need to say to the USS community, that this is NOT how I want our new Tigers introduced to Uxbridge Secondary School. Markering of faces is bullying and may even be considered assault. I do not condone this behaviour. Students who actively participate in the intimidation, initiation, or bullying of grade nine students will face serious consequences.
I would ask that anyone with information about these activities, contact me directly.
Many thanks.
