WELCOME TO THE ENGLISH DEPARTMENT

RUBRICS:
To help students achieve the highest possible marks, several rubrics are listed below. All students are encouraged to strive for a level 4 rating.
ENGLISH COURSES:
There are many different optional English courses that students can take. Some cool optional courses that you can take are: Public Speaking (EPS 301), Media (EMS 301), Literature Studies (ETS 4U1), and Writer's Craft (EWC 4U1). THE CLAW
To view the school newspaper, click on the link below. If you want to join our Creative Words Club which publishes the school newspaper, we meet every Friday at lunch in room 192. See Ms. Adams if you have any questions.

Students will complete a preparation package as review for the O.S.S.L.T. provincial assessment, which will take place on March 29th, 2012. Also, it is strongly suggested that students practise at home using the resources provided. This year's novel choices can be found on the spinner in the library and include both fiction and non-fiction books. Talk to Mr. MacIsaac or Mrs. Aguiar, in the library, for more information. Check out the following link to understand what all the terms mean: If you need any tips for starting your essay, use this helpful website to get some ideas: Make sure that you ALWAYS include a works cited page when you hand in an essay, research assignment, major project, etc. The following link can help you outline your works cited page properly. You can access any of the following web sites to learn grammatical concepts and use the tutorials to increase your understanding of the grammar taught in class: Looking for interesting poems?
